Summary
-
1.
A study was made of the hydrogenation of some 2-acetyl-5-alkylfurans in the vapor phase over Pt-C at 200–220°.
-
2.
Three new 2,6-dialkyltetrahydropyrans were synthesized by the catalytic hydrogenation of 2-acetyl-5-alkylfurans and were characterized.
