Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Dimerization of bis(trifluoromethyl)ketene under the action of weak bases leads to a β-lactone dimer.

     
  2. 2.

    A new reaction of bis(trifluoromethyl)ketene with triethyl phosphite which leads to tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)allene has been studied.

     
  3. 3.

    An unusual case of facile hydrogenation of tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)allene by triethylamine has been discovered.
