Conclusions

When 2-bromo-4-acetyl-2,6-di-tert-butylcyclohexadiene-3,5-one is reacted with amines, potassium methylate, and methylmagnesium bromide, the reaction proceeds through a step in which 4-acetyl-2,6-di-tert-butylphenoxyl is formed.
