The rate of thermal decomposition of ethane under equilibrium conditions and far away from equilibrium

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

The kinetic labeled atom method has been used to measure the rate of the forward reaction of the process of ethane dehydrogenation: C2H6⇌C2 14H4 + H2 under equilibrium conditions at 600 and 554°.

  2. 2.

It is difficult to identify a chain mechanism of a reaction by comparing the reaction velocities in the absence of end products and under equilibrium conditions.
