Abstract

It is shown that bound states and resonances in systems arising during the interaction of a charged particle with isobaric nuclei can be described with the aid of the trajectory of the poles of the S matrix in the complex plane of the Coulomb coupling constanta. The behavior of the singularities of the S matrix in thea plane is examined in detail for the case of a Coulomb field.
