Summary
-
1.
The lower members of the homologous-polymer series of 1, n-hexamethylpoly(phenylethyl)methylsiloxanes were synthesized and their viscous properties studied.
-
2.
When a hydrogen atom in the aromatic nucleus is replaced by a methyl group or chlorine atom, the activation energy of viscous flow increases, in correspondence with the increase in the polarity of the organic radicals, in the order C6H5- < CH3C6H4- < ClC6H4-.
