Summary

  1. 1.

    A study has been made of the kinetics of the isotope exchange of the ethyl ester of α-brommercuryphenylacetic acid with Hg*Br2 in DMF. It has been shown that the reaction proceeds with preliminary formation of the complex Hg*Br2 n DMF.

  2. 2.

    The overall order of the reaction with these complexes, namely the second order, has been determined along with the constants in the Arrhenius equation.
