Conclusions
-
1.
Condensation of propylene with formaldehyde in HF leads toγ, γ′-difluorodibutyl ether.
-
2.
The reaction of formaldehyde with ethylene in HF leads to 2-methylpentenal, the scheme of formation of which as sumes the initial formation of theγ -hydroxypropyl cation, followed by its isomerization.
