The following were produced for the first time: 12,13,14,15,9′,10′-hexahydro-12,15-dioxo-2,3∶6,7-dibenzo-13, 14∶9′,10′-anthrylenetriptycene (III) and 12,15,9′,10′-tetrahydro-12,15-dioxo-2,3∶6,7-dibenzo-13, 14∶9′,10′-anthrylenetriptycene (I).

2.
The quinone (I) is polarographically reduced in dimethylformamide against a background of 0.1 N KNO3. The half-wave potentials of the first and second waves are equal to −630 and −1320 mV, respectively.
