  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

The esters of saturated acids (formic, acetic, propionic, butyric, valerianic and caproic) and N-(β-hydroxy-ethyl) pyrrolidone were synthesized by the reaction of the latter with the acid chlorides of the acids mentioned, and also by direct esterification.

  2. 2.

By the reaction of β, β '-dichlorodiethyl ether with sodium lactams, ethers containing lactam rings were prepared: β, β '-di-(N-2-oxotrimethyleneimino) diethyl ether, β, β '-di-(2-oxotetramethyleneimino) diethylether and β, β'-di-(N-2-oxopentamethyleneimino) diethyl ether.
