Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The reduction of sulfenyl chlorides by amines has been investigated.

     
  2. 2.

    The reaction mechanism is associated with a one-electron transfer from the amine molecule to the sulfenyl chloride, with formation of an amine cation-radical and a disulfide.
