Conclusions
-
1.
The behavior of the amide of white birch xylan was studied under conditions of the Hofmann rearrangement with subsequent mild hydrolysis.
-
2.
In this way, virtually quantitative cleavage of the glucuronic bond is obtained under conditions when other types of glycoside bonds are stable.
