Conclusions

  1. 1.

The influence of additions of oxides of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy, Er, Yb or Y and their concentrations (0–5%) on the properties of an aluminochromopotassium catalyst (ACP), containing 13% Cr2O3 and 1.5% K2O, in the process of dehydrogenation of isopentane to isoamylines at atmospheric pressure was investigated.

  2. 2.

Most of the REE oxides in amounts of 0.9% in an ACP catalyst, with the exception of Sm and Dy, promote an increase in their original dehydrogenating activity.

  3. 3.

Under the conditions of testing (550°, volume velocity 1 h−1, 20-minute experiments with periodic regenerations), better results were achieved for ACP catalysts containing 0.9% Nd, La, or Gd oxide (the total yield of isoamylines and isoprene was more than 45%, calculated on the basis of the isopentane passed through).
