By the reaction of alkyllithiums with 1,3,5-trialkyl-2,4,6-trisalkylthioborazines (0.8:1), 1,2,3,5-tetraalkyl 4,6-bisalkylthioborazines are formed.

By the action of alcohols, primary amines, and secondary amines on the latter compounds, 2,4-dialkoxy 1,3,5,6-tetraalkylborazines, 1,2,3,5-tetraalkyl-4,6-bisalkylaminoborazines, and 1,2,3,5-tetraalkyl-4,6-bisdialkyl aminoborazines are formed, respectively.
