Summary
-
1.
Polyborodimethylsiloxanes were synthesized by the reaction of tributyl borate with α,ω-dihydroxypolydi-methylsiloxanes. This reaction proceeds when the reactants are heated together, butyl alcohol being liberated.
-
2.
Polyborodimethylsiloxanes formed by this reaction are linear or branched strongly associated polymers which readily form pseudo-gels.
