Es wird über die Biosynthese natürlich vorkommender Benzoesäuren aus Zimtsäuren berichtet. Der Abbau von Ferulasäure zu Vanillinsäure und der Übergang von Zimtsäure zu Gentisinsäure wird unter Anwendung14C-markierter Vorstufen beiHydrangea macrophylla, Astilbe chinensis undSinapis alba genauer untersucht.
