Abstract

A study of popcorn polymer formation and growth during copolymerization of acrylonitrile and styrene has been made The popcorn copolymers generally have a higher content of acrylonitrile units than normal copolymers obtained under identical conditions. The causes and the importance of this phenomenon are discussed.
