Zusammenfassung

Die Behandlung von 1-Methyl-6,7,8-trimethoxy-3,4-dihydroisochinolin (I) mit HCl und anschließende Reduktion des Hydrolysats mit NaBH₄ liefert zur Hauptsache drei phenolische Tetrahydoisochinoline. Zwei dieser Produkte wurden durch Vergleich mit authent. Präparaten als die Verbindungen II und III identifiziert. Das dritte Produkt, für welches früher die Struktur des 6-Hydroxytetrahydroisochinolins (IV) in Betracht gezogen wurde, ist in Wirklichkeit mit der Verbindung VI identisch.

Abstract

Treatment of 1-methyl-6,7,8-trimethoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline (I) with hydrochloric acid, followed by reduction of the hydrolysate with NaBH₄ affords principally three phenolic tetrahydroisoquinolines. Two of these products were identified by comparison with authentic preparations as the compounds II and III. The third product, for which the structure of the 6-hydroxytetrahydroisoquinoline (IV) had been considered earlier, is in reality identical with compound VI.
