Abstract
The Schrödinger formalism of the continuum-distorted-wave method is used for the analysis of capture with ionization in the region of intermediate and high particle-collision rates. The proposed formalism is tested on the example of the capture cross section with ionization of the collision of a helium atom with protons. The results obtained are shown to be in good agreement with experimental data.
