SU(4) symmetry and magnetic moments of particles

Abstract

This paper considers the interactions of vector mesons with quarks and determines the magnetic moments of quark, baryon\((S = {\raise0.5ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 3$}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.15em\lower0.25ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 2$}}^ + , S = {\raise0.5ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 1$}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.15em\lower0.25ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 2$}}^ + )\) and meson (S=l) multiplets within the framework of SU(4) symmetry. Since it is difficult to measure the magnetic moments of particles experimentally, it is proposed to measure the probability of electromagnetic decays of neutral particles (including charmed particles) for which magnetic dipole transitions are dominant.
