Abstract
Calculations of the time form and amplitude of the acoustic signal generated in an absorbing gas that fills the cuvette of an opticoacoustical receiver in the case of a nonlinear nonsteady interaction with a single laser pulse are performed. Expressions relating the parameters of the acoustic signal with the characteristics of the laser pulse are derived, and an expression is proposed for the parameter characterizing the nonlinearity of the absorption of the given gas.
