Abstract
A mass-spectrometric method is proposed for determining the coefficient of diffusion of sodium through discharge tubes. The method is based on recording the ion current with an RMO-4S omegatron transducer. It is shown that the method can be used to study sodium loss in high-intensity light sources and to check discharge tubes selectively.
