The asymmetrical electroluminescence of thin films of anthracene

Abstract

Asymmetrical electroluminescence is observed in thin films of anthracene. It is shown that asymmetry is caused by a difference in the thickness of the high-field regions at the respective electrodes which in turn is caused by nonuniformity throughout the thickness of the anthracene films.
