Abstract
Images obtained through stationary phase-distorting media are investigated in this paper. It is shown that the quality of the recorded images depends on the conditions of light beam limitation. Qualitative results and quantitative dependences of the contrast of the image being recorded through a phase-distorting medium on the magnitude of the aperture orifice are presented. A method is proposed for improving the image quality of objects being recorded through smooth phase-distorting stationary media, which is efficient for both coherent and noncoherent exposure.
