Theory of intercombinational nonradiative transitions

Abstract

This paper makes a comparison of two limiting cases of the use of the spin-orbital perturbance HSO in the theory of intercombinational nonradiative transitions (directly, when HSO is taken directly as a perturbance, and when HSO is considered as a wave-function, and the perturbance is the non-adiabaticity HN). Numerical estimates are made of the relative probability W(HSO)/W(HN) of the nonradiative transitions for these limiting cases.
