Dynamics of the fracture of a cylindrical panel

Conclusions

The ratio of the fracture time of the panel with loading by heavy bars having a two-sided connection to the panel to the fracture time of the panel with loading of the panel by a compressed gas is given by the equality
$$\frac{{t_s }}{{t_g }} = \sqrt {\frac{{\varrho \gamma g + q_u }}{{\varrho \gamma g}}} .$$

Consequently, the physical nature of the loading medium has a substantial effect on the dynamics of fracture of a panel.
