Abstract
A simplified model is proposed which explains spurious resonances in edgeguided (E.G.) wave devices in terms of leaky E.G. waves. These are unidirectional azimuthal surface waves guided by the edge of a curvilinear strip conductor under conditions of positive effective magnetic permeability.
Experimental results are presented wich confirm the validity of the model.
