Vortex streets in the earth's atmosphere

Summary

Calculations of the Heisenberg parameter and Strouhal number, for mesoscale vortex streets in the atmosphere, support the analogy with the classical Kármán vortex wake. Revised estimates of the horizontal coefficient of eddy diffusion are obtained.
