An experimental test of the one dimensional response of a source-detector system of piezoelectric crystals

Summary

This experimental study deals with the designing of a source-detector system of piezoelectric crystals for application in the study of one dimensional wave propagation in model seismology. The results obtained in this experiment indicate that by selecting proper dimensions of the length expander bar one can achieve one dimensional wave propagation in the laboratory with reasonable success. The response of this source-detector system is measured experimentally by fixing the source and the detector on a glass disc.
