On the preferential electrification of some dusts Part III: Rates of electrical charging of alumina upon desorption of nitrous oxide

Summary

Electrification of monodisperse powders of activated alumina is investigated, following adsorption of nitrous oxide. It is found that rates of electrical charging of porous particulates examined depend on rates of release of gas from the solid.
