Theoretical relations between epicentral distance and emergency angles for rays of the upper mantle

  • Published:
pure and applied geophysics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The upper mantle is assumed to consist of three Layers in which the velocity of bodily waves varies linearly with depth, decreasing in the second and increasing in the others. The relation between the epicentral distance and the angles of emergency are derived and tables of numerical values are given.
