Flow in the initial segment of a tube with a sharp inlet edge. Comparative analysis

  • Published:
Journal of engineering physics Aims and scope

Abstract

When flow becomes detached in the inlet segments of tubes and channels with sharp leading edges and where the Reynolds numbers exceed 75·103, the displacement of the maximum of the local heat transfer is in agreement with the onset of secondary laminar flow.
