Conclusions

The addition of methanol to 5-methylhexadiyne-1,3-ol-5 (II) was studied under acid and alkaline conditions, and the structure of the synthetically interesting derivatives of ethynyl vinyl ether and acetylenicγ-ketols thereby formed was demonstrated.
