Conclusions

  1. 1.

Electron paramagnetic resonance absorption was detected and the temperature dependence of the paramagnetism was investigated in the temperature range from −160 to 160° for samples of naphthacene, pentacene, and coronene.

  2. 2.

In the temperature region from −160 to 20°, the temperature dependence of the paramagnetism of the investigated samples obeys the Curie law.

  3. 3.

The process of accumulation of paramagnetic particles in the heat treatment of naphthacene under vacuum at a temperature of 150° was investigated.

  4. 4.

The paramagnetism of polynuclear condensed hydrocarbons is explained by the presence in them of difficultly separable paramagnetic fractions, formed either during the synthesis of the compound or during its heat treatment, and possessing a common character with the polymers with systems of conjugation.
