Conclusions
The reaction ofβ-acetoethyl alcohol with alkyl dichlorophosphites in the presence of triethylamine gave alkyl di-(γ-ketobutyl)-phosphites, which confirms the first step of the previously proposed scheme for the reaction of diacetone alcohol with the dichlorides of trivalent phosphorus acids.
