Conclusions

1.
Interaction of the functional groups according to the mechanism of the inductive effect substantially influences the retention ofα, ω-substituted alkanes by stationary phases of different polarity. It causes approximately half the mean square deviations of the experimental values of the indices of retention from those calculated according to an additive scheme.

2.
A quantitative consideration of the inductive influence of the substituents in the calculation of the indices of retention using an additive calculation scheme is possible.
