Conclusions

1.
The mechanism of the oxidation of polypropylene (melt) in the presence of a mixture of a weak antioxidant (a monophenol) and a reducing agent of hydroperoxide (a sulfide) was considered. The weak antioxidant, mixed with a reducing agent for hydroperoxide, can have two (upper and lower) critical concentrations.

2.
When the reducing agent for hydroperoxide is added, the rate of consumption of the phenol is significantly reduced. A disruption of the law of consumption of the antioxidant, apparently associated with the organic solubility of the antioxidant in the polymer, is detected.
