Relation between the creep characteristics of glass-reinforced plastics and the instantaneous stress-strain curve

Abstract

The results of experiments performed with the object of obtaining additional data permitting a fuller description of the behavior of glass-reinforced plastics (with reference to the example of TS8/3-250) within the framework of the nonlinear model proposed in [1, 2] are presented. It is shown that, together with a completely reversible viscoelastic component, there is also an irreversible strain. The possibility of using the corresponding diagrams obtained at sufficiently high strain rates as the instantaneous loading—unloading curves is considered.
