Conclusions

The kinetics of the denitrification of fluorotrinitromethane to fluorodinitromethane under the action of potassium iodide in 70% ethanol was investigated.

The reaction proceeds according to a total second order and is first order with respect to each component.

Sulfuric acid and irradiation accelerate the denitrification of fluorotrinitromethane.
