Synthesis of optically active L-alanine maleimide-styrene copolymers

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The equimolar copolymers of L- and DL-alanine maleimide with styrene were obtained by the copolymerization of L- and DL-alanine maleamide with styrene and the reaction of L- and DL-alanine with the copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride.

     
  2. 2.

    Based on the analysis data, the IR spectra, and the optical rotation dispersion curves, the copolymers contain imide rings.

     
  3. 3.

    The copolymers do not exist in specific conformations in methanol or dioxane, while the phenyl group is the nearest optically active chromophore.
