Kinetics of the acid hydrolysis of organosiliconvinyl sulfides

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The kinetics of the hydrolysis of organosiliconvinyl sulfides R3Si(CH2)nSCH=CH2, with n=1−3, was studied polarographically.

  2. 2.

The reactivity of silicon-containing vinyl sulfides is influenced by the size of the alkyl substituents at the silicon and the position of the trialkylsilyl group relative to the thiovinyl group. The basic factor determining the reactivity of the compounds studied is the inductive influence of the R3Si radicals.
