Conclusions
-
1.
A thermodynamic estimate was made of the selectivity of 11 stationary phases for the separation of organosulfur compounds.
-
2.
The following system of columns was selected on the basis of the difference in the values of the free energies of mixing: Apiezon M, poly(ethylene glycols) 1000 and 20,000, and Triton X-305, and also the optimum analysis temperatures of 60 and 130°, for the separation of mixtures of compounds of three homologous series: n-mercaptans, and symmetrical n-sulfides and n-disulfides, in the presence of certain isomeric and cyclic sulfur-containing compounds.
