Conclusions

  1. 1.

Bands appear in the spectra of diaryliodonium iodides that are absent in the UV spectra of the corresponding cations. With decreasing polarity of the solvent, a bathochromic shift of these bands is observed.

  2. 2.

Diaryliodonium iodides are complexes with charge transfer.
