Conclusions
-
1.
The IR spectra of 15 derivatives ofπ-allyliron tricarbonyl in the region of the stretching vibrations of the CO groups were obtained.
-
2.
The X substituents affect the cis-CO group predominantly by an inductive mechanism, while the mesomeric effect plays an important role in the transfer of the effect to the trans-CO group.
-
3.
Substituents in the allyl ligand also affect the multiple nature of the CO bonds, although to a less degree than do substituents that are attached directly to the iron atom.
