1.
Some 1-bromo-3,3,3-trichloro-1-propenylalkoxysilanes were synthesized by the addition of bromotrichloromethane to acetylenic alkoxysilanes, the hydrolysis of which gave polysiloxanes, which contained, along with a multiple bond, also chlorine and bromine atoms.

2.
The 1,3-diethynyltetraalkyldisiloxanes are capable of adding bromotrichloromethane to either one or both of the triple bonds.
