Conclusions
-
1.
A study was made of the polarographic reduction of aldehydes of type R(CH=CH)nCHO, and a correlation analysis was made of the half-wave potentials.
-
2.
The inductive effect of the substituents exerts the main effect on the half-wave potentials, which decreases rapidly with increase in the chain length.
