Conclusions

1.
We synthesized a number of p-substituted 1-aryl-3-tert-butyl-3-hydroxytriazenes. Their oxidation with lead peroxide leads to cleavage, with the formation of aryl radicals, nitrogen and 2-nitroso-2-methylpropane.

2.
The EPR spectrum of p-nitrophenyl-tert-butyl nitroxide was obtained, which differs from that described previously in the literature. An interpretation of the spectrum is given.
