Conclusions
-
1.
For three-membered rings the values of the force constants of the CH bonds [Kq (CH)x] substantially exceed the corresponding values in four-, five- and six-membered rings.
-
2.
The Kq (CH) values in three-membered rings are close to the Kq (CH) values of olefinic compounds.
-
3.
The nature of the heteroatom of the ring has comparatively little effect on the value of Kq (CH).
