Summary
-
1.
The interchain reaction between a polyamide and a polyarylate was investigated for the case of polyhexamethylenesebacamide and polyisopropylidenediphenyl sebacate.
-
2.
The effect of change in reaction temperature and addition of catalysts on the rate of the exchange reaction was determined.
-
3.
Some catalysts, particularly lead oxide, considerably accelerate the process of interchain reaction.
-
4.
The change in the properties of the poly(amide-esters) obtained with change in the proportions of the starting substances was investigated.
