Conclusions
The hydrolysis of chloroacetophos in water includes the parallel cleavage of acetic acid, hydrochloric acid and methanol. The ratio of the products, formed in the parallel steps, was determined, and we also determined the total rate constant for the hydrolysis of chloroacetophos.
